Baby Pictures
8th Graders and Seniors: Baby Pics
All graduating students (8th and 12th) need to submit 3 to 5 “baby” pictures (from birth to around age 5 is common) for use in graduation videos, one of which may also be included in the yearbook. The yearbook staff can scan in printed photos for you if needed.
Deadline for submission is September 30.
Grad Pictures
Seniors: Picture Day
Seniors get the special privilege of wearing business attire on school picture day. The picture will be used in the yearbook as well as in the official Alumni Portraits on the Alumni wall.
Mesa Grande Academy’s Senior Portrait (school picture) policy:
Ladies must wear a blouse or dress with sleeves and a modest neckline, and if choosing to wear a dress or skirt it must be longer than mid-thigh; men must wear a buttoned-up dress shirt and dress pants, and are encouraged to wear a tie and/or suit jacket if desired. NO jewelry of any kind.
It is the senior student’s responsibility to meet MGA’s clothing requirements for Senior Portraits. Students who’s photos do not meet these requirements will likely need to arrange a retake with the official school photographer on their own time in order to be included in the yearbook.
8th Graders and Seniors: Grad Pics
All graduating students (8th and 12th) get to have extra space in the yearbook class pages. Seniors get a half page each with 2 additional photos, and 8th Graders get a quarter page each with 1 additional photo. Digital files are preferred, and must be 300 dpi resolution or higher.
Mesa Grande Academy’s Grad Picture Policy
Pictures must follow these rules to be included: pictures must not include people other than the student, must be current; no jewelry of any kind, no inappropriate clothing or props. Appropriate props (i.e. sports equipment, musical instrument, graduating year, etc) are allowed. Both ladies and men must be wearing a top that has sleeves (MGA sports uniforms excepted), a modest neckline, and that reaches to the top of the pants.
The yearbook staff will substitute or modify photos that do not meet the requirements.
Deadline for submission is October 31.
If you need special accommodations (i.e. your child cannot get their grad pictures taken until after October 31), we are able to make exceptions to the deadline, if arranged with the yearbook staff through email (yearbook@mgak-12.org) before October 31.
Grad Ads (optional)
To help subsidize the cost of Mesa Grande Academy’s yearbook, we sell advertisements in the back of the book. Advertising space is sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to our limited space and publisher deadlines, we offer early/priority reservations to families of our graduating students, along with a discount: ~25% off to any contract and payment we receive before August 31 (you must submit the contract AND payment to qualify).
If you would like to purchase a “Grad Ad”, fill out a contract (available at the school office) and return it to the office with payment as soon as possible to reserve your spot. You may also request a contract by email (yearbook@mgak-12.org).
For details about how to create your ad, please read this information.
Deadlines:
- September 30: Final deadline for contracts and payment to be turned in to reserve your ad space
- August 31: turn in both contract and payment early for ~25% discount
- October 31: Completed advertisement OR pictures and text for the yearbook staff to create your ad
- If creating your own Ad, please send a PDF to ensure proper dimensions and quality.
- Send in pictures and text; yearbook staff will create your ad and send you a proof to approve.
Please note that our submission deadlines are set by our publisher. If these deadlines are not met, your photos or ads may not be included in the yearbook.
If you have any questions at all, please email the yearbook staff at yearbook@mgak-12.org.
Submission of Files or Photos
Preferred, for best quality
Upload digital photos directly to our photo server: on a computer or phone, go to
mga-glab.quickconnect.to/photo
Sign in (top right corner) using an MGA 12th grade or 8th grade student computer account and password. Select the “Grad Pics” folder and choose the appropriate subfolder. Drag in photos on a computer, or click on the 3 dots in the top right corner on a phone to upload photos.
Second-best choice
Digital files on USB drive OR original printed photos: put in an envelope with your child’s name on the outside, and drop it off at the office. Please DO NOT print out digital photos for us to scan, they will be very low quality. Envelopes can be picked up from the office after Thanksgiving.
Make sure all photos or USB drives are in an envelope with your name on it if you would like them returned.
Last choice (often results in file compression)
Digital photos by email: send full resolution files to yearbook@mgak-12.org (include the student’s first and last name and grade).
IMPORTANT: files must be sent original or full size to ensure proper quality for printing.
